tres chic

Do you watch Gossip Girl? I do...and shamelessly so! I will also admit that my favorite character is brand new to the show- Clemence Poesy as Chuck Bass' new girlfriend Eva. Everything about her is pretty much why she's my favorite: her hair, her accent, her style, and her overall sweet self. Love all of it. I will even go as far as to say that she is my new girl crush (sorry, Audrey Tautou).

oh, and speaking of scarves...

xoxo (sorry, had to put this in here.)

Sweet Scarves

Who doesn't love a good scarf? I cannot wait to layer myself up in the winter with scarves of all different colors, patterns, and origins. Sometimes, I think I have more scarves than other clothing items...hmmm.

City Shores

Isn't this nighttime dinner party on the Bay absolutely the most romantic thing you've ever seen? It reminds me of the Great Gatsby, west coast style. I think it would also be a great setting for a wedding reception...hmmm.

Dress Lust

Do you ever do what I do? I walk into Anthropologie, all cool and collected, and peruse through the items in the front of the store. I'm fully aware that they cost more than any normal person should spend on such things, but I pretend that it doesn't phase me. I pick up a dress or two off the display and stop in the clearance room to pick up some more affordable (but still too expensive) items, then saunter over to the dressing room.

This is where the trouble begins.

You try on the clearance items, and they all fit strangely, puckering in weird places and are just plain unattractive. Then, you dare to try on the dresses from the front of the store. They're neatly hung on their wooden hangers, fluttering their eyelashes at you, beckoning you to just try them on, to wear their gorgeous threads only for a minute and be the girl with the beautiful, expensive dress on. It's like slipping into a warm bubble bath. Soft, comfortable, and just the right temperature.

Well, this is my "bubble bath" dress. Tell me you have one, too?

Have a Seat

Sometimes, all I want to do is sit down with a cup of coffee and enjoy my breakfast without rushing out the door every morning. To those who have this luxury, be sure to savor it every day :) And to those who don't, try to find the time! I decided to wake up a little earlier tomorrow morning, make myself some pancakes and french press coffee, plop down at my desk and cozy up to the morning news while sipping for a good 1/2 hour. I think it's always important to take a little time for yourself, particularly when you feel so starved of it.

p.s. doesn't this muffin look amazing? I just want to take a huge chomp out of it.

Kiss Me

I am absolutely smitten over this image from "Rear Window." Jimmy Stewart was such a beautiful man and such an honest actor. I don't know who would be able to resist him if he swept them up like this.

Some more, please

With the air becoming crisp and leaves gathering beneath my feet more each day, I cannot help but fall in love with all things, well, Fall! I had my ritual cup of pumpkin spice coffee this morning from the cafe downstairs, and I am scheming away for pumpkin-themed baked goods.

I also spotted these DIVINE looking S'mores Turnovers on Design Crush. These look beyond wonderful. (I can predict that Salman is probably drooling all over his computer at this point.) Maybe I'll attempt them this weekend, or next?

Blazer Lust

Once the cool breezes start to blow, I pull out my blazers. It's still too warm for jackets, but a nice blazer always dresses things up without making it too weighty. I spotted this 3/4 sleeve one on Modcloth.com. I love the grey piping :)

"Always Forever"

Have you ever heard "Jukebox the Ghost?" Neither have I. Until now.

Sharing a bit of my sissy's obsession, which I have now adopted. Feel free to get up and dance...

Jukebox the Ghost "I Love You Always Forever" (Donna Lewis Cover)

Oh, Jackie O.

I caught up on my "Project Runway" season 8 episodes last night, and my favorite one by far is the most recent Thursday night challenge, which required the designers to create a modern-day Jackie O. sportswear outfit.

I don't just love the woman because we have the same name (although, it is kind of nice). Her style is sophisticated, yet confident and relaxed. Her marriage may not have been perfect, but sometimes I like to think that her wardrobe was her coping mechanism and made her feel put-together and ready to take on the world. Isn't that what every woman's wardrobe should do?

always a bridesmaid

I love this bridesmaid dress. Whimsical, carefree, and absolutely WEARABLE! (I'm also diggin' her sideways, messy ponytail.)

Hair, care?

I haven't gotten a haircut in over a year. What's more, is that I don't care much for styling my hair. I rarely brush it (don't worry, I shower every day, although I'm surprised it hasn't turned into dreadlocks yet). It's usually up in a messy bun of sorts. However, I'm looking to change all that...or at least most of it (sometimes, you just have to run and go with the messy look). I've been perusing haircuts/styles as of late, and I wanted to share my finds with you! If you're like me and you love your hair, but it's not a serious relationship or anything, here are some good looks for the best of the mess...

Dunst + Delight

I love these photographs by Mario Testino for Vanity Fair back in 2002. They're extremely carefree...kind of how I feel with this cooler, fall weather coming on.

Farming in Sicily

My good friend Juhee, who just graduated from college in May, has been traveling ever since her graduation. She has been trekking through Spain, farming in Sicily, cooking in Dubai, and is now in Korea probably eating pork belly and drinking beer.

Her photographs from Sicily are beautiful, so I thought I would share a few of them here.

If you'd like to see more, you can see them here.

absence makes the heart grow fonder?

Oh goodness- sorry I've been away the past several days. Things have gotten a bit hectic around here, but I think they'll be slowing down back to normal once this holiday weekend is over.

It's 3am and my brain is officially fried from all the homework problems I've been tending to...seeing a picture of Mandy's cozy-looking bedroom doesn't help my heavy eye syndrome, but certainly gives me an incentive to finish quickly. I wish Oregon was tiny enough to cozy up on my pillow. However, I think she rather prefers this position instead...

sweet dreams! See you in the morning!
